Carol L. Draube, 85, of Sioux City, IA, passed away March 7, 2024. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 at the at church. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Carol was born on January 5, 1939, in Bancroft, NE. She graduated from Bancroft High School and went on to attend Concordia Teachers College. Carol then worked as a schoolteacher in Storm Lake and at St. Paul's Lutheran in Sioux City. After that, she began her career as an administrative assistant for Sioux Honey and retired after 21 years. Carol then met the love of her life Raymond Draube and the two were united in marriage on June 16, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Nebraska. Carol was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was in the choir, taught Sunday School and vacation Bible school, was a bible study leader, on the mission committee and in the women's league. She enjoyed reading, music, her grandchildren's activities, and traveling to see the leaves and visiting numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her three sons: Timothy, Scott and his wife Dawn, and Todd, all of Sioux City; her two granddaughters: Emma and Ashlyn; sister, Mildred Toelle; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Wilmer Koehler; and sisters: Lois Metzger and Lorraine Koehler.
The family requests that memorials may be to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
