Obituary

Calvin "Sonny" Plummer, Jr., 76, of Sergeant Bluff, took his journey to Heaven, to take his place on the family tree. His spirit left Earth on December 15, 2015, leaving from Embassy Rehab Center in Sergeant Bluff where he resided for 12 years. Services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the New Life Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff with Rev. Jeff Swanson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

He loved his trips with family. A special trip was to Branson, Missouri for a week stay. He flew to California to visit relatives, alone with the help of airline employees. He made this trip several times.

Sonny made many friends over the years who loved him and who he loved dearly. Talking and visiting was his favorite pastime.

This life was accomplished, despite the fact that he was born on April 3, 1939 to Beulah (Pickrel) and Calvin Plummer, Sr. with Cerebral Palsy and a life expectancy of 20 years. He lived in the family home until he entered Embassy in 2003.

Sonny is survived by two sisters, Mary Walters and Elsie (Chuck) Bales and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sonny was preceded in death by his mother Beulah and his father Calvin, Sr., stepmother Ida, five sisters, one brother, three nieces, and two nephews.

A recent statement by sonny "I showed them! I was not supposed to live past 20 years, and I'm 76 years old!"
"Amen, Sonny, you certainly did show them!"
