Bryant “Fritz” D. Frith, 63, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at a local hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Bryant Douglas Frith was born October 1, 1956 in Kansas City, MO the son of Patricia Banks-Scott and grandson of Frances “Granny” Williams. He graduated at Paseo High School in KC and went on to take additional courses at a local trade school.
Bryant moved to Sioux City, IA. in the fall of 2004 to start a new life with Deborah Fitzgerald. They were blessed to be married on November 7, 2015. Over the years he worked a variety of jobs in the Kansas City area and later in the Sioux City area. The avenue in which he gained the most personal satisfaction was caring for elderly and sick within the home health field.
Upon meeting Bryant, it was hard not to like him. He had a beautiful, caring heart. He had a forgiving heart which made him that much more special. He had a soft spot for children and young adults, wanting to encourage them and at times would try to subtly mentor them in regards to making good choices in their lives. His nieces and nephews were especially special to him.
Bryant took his grilling/smoking seriously; he would smoke a mean brisket “Bryant style”! He enjoyed getting his hands into the dirt; any opportunity to garden vegetables or flowers provided him peace. A chance to go fishing was hard for Bryant to turn down and, of course, he’d have to turn it into a competition. Support and comfort to him was having his animals around; missing him already is his cat, Calico and dog, Blu.
Bryant loved his Lord and was a member of the Heartland Baptist Church and was baptized at Heartland in February 2013.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Deb, of Sioux City, father John Scott of Kansas City, daughter, Michelle (Dan) Evert of Sioux City, brothers, Kevin Banks and Kerry Banks of Kansas City, sisters, Pamela Jones of Tyler, TX., and Carolyn Brown and Jacqueline Banks, both of Kansas City, MO., and grandson, Jacob Elwell of Sioux City. Extended family includes nieces Janell Banks, Briona McIntosh and Jacarra Brown, nephews Damond Banks and James Fight, and great-nieces and great-nephew Tiara Banks, Isiah Banks and Israel Buckner. Special mention of his life-long confidant and friend, Patricia Reed of Urbana, MO, her daughter LeeAnn Sanders of Kansas City, MO and ‘adopted’ granddaughter, Brianna Nichole Day of Urbana, MO.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Granny and his beloved dog, Buddy.
