Bryan D, Johnston, 56 of Sioux City, died Saturday January 24, 2015 at a local hospital.
Services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Hornick United Methodist Church with Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Visitation with the family will follow after the service. Interment will be in Willow Township Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Bryan Duane Johnston was born on June 25, 1958 in Sioux City, the son of Roy and Susan (Beth Butler) Johnston. He started working with his father at Johnston Construction and lived in Hornick until 1982, when Bryan and his father started working for American Golf Construction Co. out of Plano, Texas. He worked there until 2001 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Bryan loved playing the guitar. He was a member of a rock band while he lived in Plano, Texas. When his Multiple Sclerosis worsened he moved into a care facility in Sioux City. While he was there, he enjoyed listening to music, playing bingo, and attending chapel services.

Bryan is survived by his mother, Beth; his brother and his wife, Forrest and Deb Johnston of Hornick, two sisters, Carol Berzina of Sioux City and Susan and her husband Kirk Kirkendall of Valdez, Alaska; and his nieces, nephews, great nieces and a great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy in 2011, a brother, Walter Johnston in 1957, and his brother-in-law, Robert Berzina in 2006.
