Brian J. Sanders, 57, of Sioux City, IA. passed away on March 27, 2022 at a local hospital following a long illness. Services will be held 11:30am Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Brian was born to Lois (White) and Raymond Sanders, Sr. in January, 1965. He grew up in the Sioux City area. After high school Brian joined the US Army and after his service, he moved to Kansas and on to Texas before returning to this area. In 2010 he moved to Texas again, this time joining his special friend, Copper Cole. In 2015 they both returned to the area and made their home in Sioux City.

Brian held a variety of positions throughout his life including commercial bakeries, meat processing, and restaurants to name a few. He was working in customer service when he had to quit due to his illness in 2019.

Brian enjoyed all types of sports, especially Nebraska Cornhusker football. He was a true fan and cheered them on even in the worst of times. In his healthier years, Brian enjoyed golfing, swimming and playing darts.

Brian is survived by his father, Raymond Sr. of McCook Lake, SD; brothers, Raymond Jr. (Mike), of Sioux City, Keith (Shelly Munsen) of McCook Lake, SD; Pat (Tracy Wecker) of Vermillion, SD. and his sister, Jill (Chad) Johns of Sioux Falls, SD; brother-in-law, Dennis Manchester, Sr. and his nieces and nephews; Dennis Manchester, David Manchester, Anissa Johns, Austin Johns, Casey Sanders, Lucas Sanders and Ellie Sanders.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Lois, sister, Sheryl Manchester, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Brian will be especially missed by his BFF and long-time partner, Copper Cole of Sioux City.
