Brandon Marcus Vilhauer was born January 22, 1991. He was the family's joy when they heard the news that a healthy baby boy was born to Donald “Don” and Barbara “Barb” (Dolan) Vilhauer, especially since he was their first born. Brandon became a curly-headed two-year-old with a curiosity in life that stayed with him. He attended Trinity Lutheran School from Kindergarten until the 7th grade. His family moved to North Sioux City, SD in 2003 where he attended Dakota Valley High School, where he played varsity golf and baseball, graduating in 2009. Brandon also played hockey until 8th grade, and loved the show Outer Banks.
Brandon attended WIT and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in 2012, continuing on to the University of South Dakota receiving his Bachelor of Science in Communications in 2016. He was a studious pupil in confirmation and was confirmed at Holy Cross Dakota Dunes. During a major graduation project at USD, he worked with a team to develop a marketing plan to increase attendance at sporting events. Their project was placed with the commerce department.
He was a compassionate and hard working person. Brandon was a devoted older brother who watched out for his younger sibling. He was employed at Fareway in the meat department as the counter clerk in high school, and during his college years worked at Hy-Vee also in the meat department. Brandon struggled with his health; being in and out of the hospital, but always stayed strong and enjoyed fishing, golfing, listening to music, watching football, riding his e-scooter, and art.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Fred and Verna Vilhauer, Kaye (Lile) Dolan; and his aunt, Veronica (Vernie) Dolan and uncles: Paul Van De Rostyne and Craig Dolan.
