Bonnie L. Fields, 64, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at a local hospital after a lengthy battle with breast and bone cancer.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4th at Trimble United Methodist Church, 1424 27 th Street in Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2020 family present 4-7pm with a prayer service at 5pm at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Bonnie Lynn was born November 30, 1955 in Sioux City, Iowa to Duane D. and Alice F. (Thompson) Schenzel. She grew up in Hinton, Iowa graduating from Hinton High School. She received her Associated Degree from Western Iowa Technical Community College.
On February 19, 1994 she married James D. Fields in Sioux City. Bonnie worked at various restaurants as a waitress. She later became an in-home day care provider for her grandchildren. Bonnie loved "get togethers" with family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed barbecues, holiday gatherings, crocheting, Elvis, rummaging and Canasta. Bonnie was the most selfless person, she was a mom to many and made it her goal to make sure everyone felt welcomed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, James; children, Deanna (Bernard) Roberson, Eric (Amanda) Schenzel, James (Paula Acero) Fields Jr. of Sioux City, IA; Jermaine Fields, Massachusetts; Nichole (Robert) Lane, Indiana; Christina Fields, Connecticut; siblings Brad (Betty) Schenzel of Aurora, CO, Cheryl (Rich) Hesse of Hinton, IA and Paige (Steve) Hesse of Sioux City; 15 grandchildren. .She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Lou Ann Rose; and 8-year-old brother, Dean Duane (Dino).
