Bonnell ‘Bonnie’ Brooks, 75, of Sioux City, Iowa died Friday, August 19, 2016 at a local care facility. A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Come as you are.
Bonnie was born September 29, 1940 near Gregory, South Dakota. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Sioux City where she grew up and attended school. Bonnie continued her education at Nettleton Business College.
She married Ronald Coffin. They later divorced. Bonnie later married Robert L. Brooks. Together they made their home in Sioux City before moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1977. They later divorced. Bonnie returned to Sioux City in the mid 1990’s.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially playing video games with them. Bonnie was outstanding at throwing darts and often competed. She was a fan of the Sioux City Explorers and enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter, Vikki (Mike) Sabasta of Sioux City, IA., and a son, Michael Coffin of Iowa; Step-children, Donald Brooks of Virginia and Tess Brooks of Minnesota; 2 grandchildren, Jack (Claire) Morris Jr. of St. Louise, MO. and Sarah Morris of St. Louise, MO., several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma (Gene) Ockwig of California and JoAnne Gfeller of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-daughter, Brenda Brooks.
