Beverly C. Holzerland, 83 of Sergeant Bluff, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 5, 2016 at Friendship Community Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 4-8 pm Thursday, with family present 6-8 pm and prayer service at 7 pm.
Beverly was born on March 21, 1933 in Sioux City, the daughter of Barney and Vivian (Blanchard) Hewitt. Beverly attended Central High School. She was united in marriage to Arthur C. Holzerland on April 5, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They briefly moved to Seattle, Washington before returning to Sioux City to start their family. During 1973 they moved to their acreage outside of Sergeant Bluff. She was a member of the Friendship Community Church.
Family was her life, and as such she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She also enjoyed her time camping and fishing with her family.
Beverly is survived by two sons, Doran (Molli) Holzerland and Darin (Mary) Holzerland, all of Sloan; two daughters, Lori Rand (and her significant other, Dale Maggart) of Montgomery, Texas and Lu Ann (Wilson) Eisley of Sergeant Bluff; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas (Lisa) Holzerland, Sunshine (Shawn) Petit, Bryce (Kristi) Lander, Aaron (Sara), Holzerland, Britt Lander, Mckayla Rand, Carter Holzerland and Mallory Holzerland; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur who died in February of 1993 and 1 sister, Sharon Hasler.
