Beverly Ann Baker, 94, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on June 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A private burial at Memorial Park Cemetery will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. The service will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/live/6H1jWCkwVGA?is=nPDJpHGaW9PKVHnV

Beverly was born on January 12, 1932, in Hubbard, Nebraska, to Violet Johnson and Anthony Marlin. She attended school in Jackson, Nebraska. On October 7, 1950, she married her sweetheart, Walter W. Baker II, in Sioux City, Iowa. Together they built a loving home and raised three children: Walter "Bill," Cynthia, and Cheryl.

Beverly enjoyed spending time with her pets, caring for her meticulously maintained yard, attending church and, most of all, being with her family. She was the light of every room she entered. She smiled often, loved deeply, and devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she cherished. She had a quick wit that got each of us when we least expected it. Family meant everything to Beverly, and that family included the many dogs she loved throughout her life. She was quick to offer a warm hug, a listening ear, and thoughtful advice without judgment. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering support were a blessing to all who knew her.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Beverly worked for two years at the Battery Company, 30 years at the Erwin Weller Company and four years at Donnelley Marketing before retiring in 1988. Her faith was very important, and she attended Redeemer Lutheran Church for most of her adult life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Walter W. Baker III "Bill," Cynthia Lee Scott (Paul), and Cheryl Renee Deirup (Craig); grandchildren, Donna Boetger (Kip), Walter W. Baker IV "Manny," Jack Baker (Marci), Stephanie Stabile (Mike), Walker Scott (Pelin), Honore Pittenger (Chris), Abby Scott, Nickolas Harrington (Brenna), Marvin Harrington "Adam" (Justine), Andrea Harrington, and Cody Harrington; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Madison, Jules, Brody, Hadley, Piper, Aya, Cayden (Mackenzie), Cale, Colin, Logan (Adri), Katelyn, Garrett, Cai, Kolby (Danielle), Aubrie (Mark), Marvin “Tater”, Max, Evie, Jada, Kya, Ava, Bentley, and Aiden; great-great-grandchildren, Briella, Kayden, Amelia, and Tobias; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter W. Baker II; her brother, John Pittenger, her sisters, Evelyn Schimmel and Connie Denker, her grandson, Jacob Harrington, and her great-granddaughter, Kaylee Baker.

Beverly's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Midwest for their loving kindness in the care of Beverly.
