Betty Ann Campbell, 54 formerly of Sioux City, entered the Spirit World on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln after a short illness.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church burial will follow at Holy Faith Cemetery in Lindy, Nebraska. Wake services will be held at 8:00pm Wednesday, February 18, 2015 and Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff and Santee Wake and Burial Program.
Betty was born in Sioux City on December 30, 1960 to Frank and Florence (West) Campbell. She attended schools in Sioux City. She was a member of Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska. In 1986 Betty moved to Ponca Oklahoma to be close to her sister Karen. She met and fell in love with Sherman Bettis and from this union a son was born, Steven Sanford Bettis in 1988. She worked for Conoco as an office cleaner there. After Sherman’s death in March 26, 2006 she moved back to Sioux City Iowa.
She enjoyed walking, and would visit family and friends often. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopalian Church and there every Sunday to worship. Betty enjoyed going to concerts especially the Ghost Ship Band and Saturday in the Park.
Betty is survived by her son Steven Bettis, Sister Rose (Campbell) Rockwood, Mary and Shirley Campbell, Karen (Brian) Stovall and Brothers Frank (Gloria) Campbell and Ronald Campbell, twenty-three nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her significant other Sherman Bettis, her parents, sisters Debra Ann, Lilly Ann, Doris Nieman, and Linda Gomez and brothers Richard and Frank Jr.
