Becky Valentine

Rebecca “Becky” Valentine, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, at the age of 64. Becky leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and a family and circle of friends who will forever carry her in their hearts. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation held one hour prior to service time at Waterbury Funeral Home in Sioux City, Iowa, 4125 Orleans Avenue. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home.

Becky was born on January 7,1962. Becky was a woman with a heart of gold. Family was everything to her, and she found joy in the simple moments spent together. Whether it was being out on the water, enjoying racing, or gathering with the people she loved, Becky was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

One of Becky’s greatest joys was karaoke. She loved singing and making memories with her family and friends, and many will remember her for the laughter, music, and good times she brought wherever she went. She was a loving mother to Sharaea Schmidt (Jacob Schmidt) of Sioux Falls and Amanda Hard of Sioux City. She was a proud grandmother to Elijah, Isaiah, Khloee, Ryee-Ann, and Brooklynn. Becky also cherished her role as a bonus mother to Carrie Birdsell, and loved Carrie’s children, Perry, Rita, Abigail, Aryah, Myah, and Kyah, as part of her family. One of Becky’s greatest joys was helping raise her two grandsons alongside her daughter Amanda. She poured her love into them and treasured the time they shared. Her love, guidance, laughter, and memories will remain a part of them forever.

Becky is survived by her siblings and their families: Terry and Teresa Cox of Evansville, Indiana; Tony and Don Klein of Sioux City; Michael Cox of Sioux City; Stan and Julie Cox of Sioux City; Susan Hahn-Freda; and Angie Pippin of Sioux City and Lisa Goodall. She also leaves behind so many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Cox and Shirley Hahn, and her stepfather, Richard Hahn.

Becky’s life was about love, family, friendship, music, and making memories. Though she is no longer here to sing another song, laugh with her loved ones, or make another memory, the love she gave so freely will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
