Barry John Grause, 54, of Sioux City, IA passed away surrounded by his family at home on June 3, 2025, after losing a yearlong battle with brain cancer.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Barry was born on October 20, 1970, in Cherokee, IA to Gary Merle Grause and Mary Margaret McKenna.  Barry was the fourth of four children.  After high school graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served during Desert Storm.  He spent several years in Colorado working as a mortgage broker.  While living in Colorado, he took advantage of the summer and winter sports, especially snowboarding.  Returning to Iowa, he held several jobs, most recently at Westrock, operating a corrugator machine.  He enjoyed attending Sunnybrook Church and appreciated their kindness, prayers and visits.

Barry is survived by his sons: Justin and Cameron; and daughter, Laura; parents: Gary and Mary Grause; sister, Carol; brothers: Mark (Chris) and Scott (Deena); grandchildren: Ember, Phoenix, Lane, Luke, and Jace; special niece, Kaitlin (for her nursing skills); and several nieces and nephews.
