Barbara Jean Vires, 72, of Sioux City, IA, passed away January 8, 2024 at a local hospital.  Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Barbara was born on March 28, 1951 in Sioux City, IA to Chet and Norma (Gustavson) Ferdig.  She was united in marriage to Eugene Vires on January 18, 1971.  Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Mia.  She also enjoyed drinking coffee, listening to Elvis and seeing the band Bob Merchant and the Shadows.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Bobbi Yarborough and Cynthia Vires; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters: Charmayne and Julie Clinkenbeard; and brother, Ralph Ferdig.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Teresa; and son, Darren.
