Barbara A. Johnson, 61 of Dakota City, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be held 10 am Saturday, March 28th at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, with Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.

Barbara was born on November 21, 1953 in South Dakota, the daughter of Harry and Betty (Audis) Kenaston. In April 1979 Barbara was united in marriage to Kebbin Johnson. They moved to Homer in 1981.
During 1995 they moved to Dakota City.

Barbara worked at Westmoore Music in the mall, and later at various care facilities in the area, most recently Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting. Barbara enjoyed music, quilting, cooking which won her a blue ribbon at the South Dakota State Fair for a pie she had entered, and gardening. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, as her greatest enjoyment was her family. She loved to play the piano and sing with her granddaughter Elise.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Jon Johnson of South Sioux City and Chris Johnson of Dakota City; and her granddaughter, Elise Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
