Barbara Bugg

Barbara J. Bugg, 79 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 after a long illness, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Community of Christ Church, 3232 Transit Avenue. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time, with the family present.

Barbara was born on July 31, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Vernon and Frances (Smith) Peck. She graduated in 1963 from East High School. She married Jesse R. Johnson in 1964 and together they were blessed with 3 children.

On September 1, 1989 Barbara married Vincent Bugg. Barbara worked at Sioux Bee Honey for 30 years, retiring in 2014.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family. She went on many "Girls Camping Trips" with her daughters and granddaughters at Lake Shetek in Minnesota. Barbara and Vincent enjoyed going on cruises and trips across the country, visiting many of the Civil War Battlefields among other sites. She loved reading Christian books and some novels.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Vincent, son, Scott (Molly) Johnson,  two daughters, Tami (Gary) March, Marcy (Ron) Hummel, seven  grandchildren: Austin (Ashley) Reynolds, Matthew (Bobbi Jo) Reynolds, Mitchell (Kayla) Reynolds, Stephen (DeVanne) Sturges, Randi Kay Sturges, Erica (Craig) Acklie, Hannah (Ryan) Stanley-Chadwell, 14 great-grandchildren, two step-sons, Ryan (Trish) Bugg, Ben (Julie) Bugg, 4 step-grandchildren: Lauren, Tyler, Emily and Rlyan and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Mickey and her twin brother Billy, sister, Jeanette Pittenger, brother-in law, John Pittenger grandson, Jesse Johnson and two great grandsons, Blair Newlon and Joshua Sturges.
