Arita Golden, 66 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away November 2, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Arita Golden was born on March 21, 1960 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of George and Georgia (Alex) Malaktaris. She graduated in 1978 from the Minot High School in Minot, North Dakota.

On May 21, 1982 Arita was united in marriage to Craig Golden. Over the years, Arita worked in food service at nursing homes, Sergeant Bluff Public Schools and area restaurants, retiring from Culver's in 2014.

In her youth, Arita enjoyed training horses; later, she enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and her cats. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

Arita is survived by her husband, Craig, son, Colt (Jessica Arnburg) Golden, daughter, Mandalin (Kelly James) Golden, numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren, including one great-grandchild (with one on the way), a brother, Anthony (Ruth) Malaktaris, two sisters, Maria (Greg) Carpenter, and Jami (Bob) Thom, numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-law, and mother-in-law, Nola Golden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law, Leon Golden.
