Antonio Lopez Valdez, Sr., 72, aka Tony or Apache of Sioux City, passed away Monday November 14, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, November 18, 2016, at the Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be at Dakota City Cemetery. Lunch will be served immediately after burial at the funeral home. Visitation will be 4-8pm Thursday, November 17, 2016 with Rosary at 6pm at the funeral home.
Antonio was born on April 7, 1944, in Crystal City, TX, the son of Hipolito Valdez and Bertha Lopez. Antonio was the 3rd of 15 children. Antonio grew up in and loved Texas. Antonio worked as a laborer for over 40 years. Antonio was married and divorced to Sabina Luna and Geraldine Valdez.
Antonio loved gardening, restoring cars, spending time with friends by drinking beers and sitting on his porch on Ingleside.
He is survived by his 9 siblings, Jose, Guadalupe, Hipolito, Raul, Carlos, Juan, Israel, San Juanita, and Iliana. 9 children, Maria Aide Delgado, Antonio Valdez, Victor Valdez, Yolanda Alanis, Victoria Valdez, Consuelo Valdez, Ruben Valdez, Antonio L Valdez, Jr, and Lyrico Hardheart, 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Antonio is preceded in death by parents Hipolito and Bertha, a stepmother Soledad Valdez, five siblings Gilbert Valdez, Ruben Valdez, Emilio Valdez, Miguel Valdez, Melaine Valdez Sanders, and one granddaughter Felicia Valdez.
