Anne E. “Phetteplace” Blackburn 54 of Sioux City, died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Sioux City.
Memorial services will be held Friday 10:30 am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Rev. Torey Lightcap officiating. Private inurnment will be in the St. Thomas Columbarium. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at the church with the family present. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Anne was born on September 15, 1958 in Moorhead, Minnesota, the daughter of Edwin and Patsy (Lynch) Blackburn.
Anne was raised in the mid-west, and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in 1982. She attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin and Briar Cliff University in Sioux City. Anne also attended grad courses at Drake University in Des Moines. Anne was an account executive with Powell Broadcasting Company.
Anne was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, active in the Altar Guild, Choir, Eucharist Ministry, and as a Sunday school teacher. Anne was also an active member of Rotary, currently serving as the Board Secretary of the Sioux City Rotary Club. The greatest joy of Anne’s life was being a grandmother.
Anne is survived by two sons, Earl Phetteplace and his wife Amy and Brian Phetteplace; her daughter, Katrina and her husband Mark Aesoph; five grandchildren, Alice and Earl Phetteplace and Grace, Maxwell and Collin Aesoph; her brothers Glen Blackburn and his wife Sally and Stu Blackburn and his wife Lynne; her sister, Samantha and her husband Mark Franklin; and her father, Edwin Blackburn
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Blackburn.
