Anna L. “Annabell” Krone, 94 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. Services will be held 6pm Friday, January 10, 2025  at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Anna was born in Gayville, South Dakota on August 4, 1930 the youngest of five to William and Elsie (Poelet) Mallett. She was living in Mission Hills, South Dakota at this time. Her family then moved to South Sioux City, NE. where she attended Public Schools and graduated in 1948.

She loved horses and could be seen riding her pony “Tex” up and down the street, with her dog “Buster” running alongside of them.

Anna worked at Sioux City Battery Co. until the company moved. In July she met her future husband Richard (Dick) Krone at a dance. They got married on October 14, 1950, and in this union they were blessed with two children. She stayed at home with her children until they were in high school. Anna then went to work for the Nuway Drug Co.  in South Sioux City. The company had shut down, and Anna becomes a fulltime housewife. She met many friends and neighbors. She kept in touch with them until their passing, but would keep in touch with her friends and neighbors children.

She and Dick loved to travel with their pop- up camper, and their mini motor home with Rick and Sharon and the dogs growing up. Anna and Dick spent 12 winter seasons at “Winter Texans” at Sleepy Valley Ranch near Mission, Texas. Years later they were blessed with a cat “Katie” that ruled the roost.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dick Krone; son, Rick Krone; daughter, Sharon (Mike) Irish; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and daughter-in law Janet.
