Ann A. Kind “Netha Ann Wise” , 59, of Sioux City, IA, went home to be with Jesus on April 22nd, 2023. Ultimately, after her journey with cancer, she was victorious, because she is now with Jesus. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Avenue, Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be held at the same location one hour prior. Ann will be laid to rest on Thursday, April 27th, at 11:00 AM, at the Immanuel Reformed Church Cemetery, 3157 130th St, Belmond, IA.
Ann was born in Colorado on October 5, 1963, and was quickly adopted by her two overjoyed parents Andrew and Phyllis (Halfpap) Boelman. She was raised on a farm in Meservey, IA, alongside her two brothers, Kim and Brent. Ann graduated high school at Meservey-Thornton in 1982, where she still holds a track and field relay race record. She later attended Iowa State University and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design on August 1, 1992.
Ann met her husband, Brian, in January 2000 at their church in Sioux City, IA. They were married on July 25, 2001, at Anderson Pavilion in Sioux City, IA. Brian brought five children into their marriage, Joseph, Bryan, Jacob, Jordan, and Joy. Ann brought her two daughters, Lauren and Morgan. Ann, Brian, and their seven children started their life together as a family in Marcus, IA.
Ann’s favorite thing in the world, above all, was being a mother. In addition to her loving and dedicated motherhood, Ann loved doing anything that allowed her to be creative, including making beautiful works of art and sculptures (including a fun project where she created Mr. Money for Security National Bank as part of Sioux City’s “Prairie Dog Quest'' celebrating the 200th anniversary of Lewis and Clark’s historic trip). Ann also enjoyed shopping, following home decor trends, visiting with her children, taking care of her pets, and serving her church by teaching Sunday school and also through teaching at a ministry outreach. Throughout her entire life, Ann held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Ann joins her parents, Andrew and Phyllis, in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband, Brian; her siblings Kim (Beth) Boelman and Brent (Sheri) Boelman; her children Joseph, Helen, Bryan, Nicholas, Lauren, Adam, Jacob, Danny, Jordan, Ruben, Morgan, Joy, and her granddaughter Audrena. She is also survived by the father of her children, Darwin Pike (Lauren & Morgan).
***Ann loved everything bright that radiates life. Her favorite colors consisted of pink, red, purple & bright yellow. In honor of her memory, feel free to wear her favorite colors, or any other bright colors, as we celebrate her life together.
