Andrea "Andy" (Alarcon) Sokolowski, 50, of Sioux City, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 23, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Andrea was born on June 2, 1968 in Laredo, Texas to Victor Alarcon and Andrea Terriquez. She grew up in southern Texas, then moved to Los Angeles, CA where she had her first child, Denise. Andrea met Mitchell Foster in San Gabriel, CA and together they moved to Alliance, NE and were married in Hot Springs, SD in 1987. To this union, two children were born, Roxanne and Jared. The family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where Andrea and Mitchell later divorced. Andrea then met and married Aaron Sokolowski and moved to Sioux City. To this union, two children were born, Hope and Faith. Andrea and Aaron later divorced.

While living in Sioux City, Andrea worked at the Shell Gas Station on Singing Hills Blvd and as a Spanish Interpreter for Siouxland Community Health Center. Andrea enjoyed going shopping, and was interested in learning about astrology and zodiac symbolism. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Andrea was a very likeable person with a bubbly personality, everywhere she went, she would meet a new friend.

Survivors include her children, Denise McKnight and her husband Adam, Roxanne Clark, Jared Foster and his wife Jordan, Hope Sokolowski, and Faith Sokolowski; brother, Victor Alarcon; sisters, Wendy Alejandro and Cindy Moreno; and grandchildren, Payton, Pierse, Addison, Ethan, and Benton.

Andrea was preceded in death by her father, Victor Alarcon; mother, Andrea Terriquez; and her step mother, Cruz Sanchez.
