Ana Sylvia Bernal, de 69 años, residente de Sioux City, Iowa, falleció el 10 de enero de 2026 en un hospital local. La Misa de Exequias Cristianas se celebrará el jueves 15 de enero de 2026 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Catedral de la Epifanía. El velatorio será el miércoles de 4:00 a 7:00 p.m., con una vigilia a las 7:00 p.m. en Waterbury Funeral Service de Sioux City. Ana nació el 4 de febrero de 1956 en El Salvador, siendo la segunda de ocho hermanos. Trabajó como maestra antes de mudarse a los Estados Unidos en 1980. Ya en este país, trabajó como enfermera. Estuvo casada con Gonzolo Rodriguez y más tarde conoció a Nelson Ramirez. Junto a él tuvo a sus dos hijas: Stephanie y Katherine.

Ana amaba cocinar y pasar tiempo con su familia. Era fuerte en su fe y una mujer de gran sabiduría. Nadie salía de su casa sin recibir una palabra de conocimiento. Tenía mucho amor para dar y tocó la vida de muchas personas.

Quienes honran su memoria incluyen a sus hijas: Stephanie Ramirez y Katherine (Roberto) Villalobos; y a sus nietos: Fátima, Leonardo, Aristides y Joanna.

Le preceden en la muerte sus padres Aristides Bernal y Maria del Pilar Guardado.

Ana Sylvia Bernal, 69, of Sioux City, IA, passed away January 10, 2026 at a local hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Epiphany. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7:00 p.m., with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Anthon, IA.

Ana was born on February 4, 1956 in El Salvador, the second of 8 children. She worked as a teacher before moving to the United States in 1980. While here she worked as a nurse. She was married to Gonzolo Rodriguez and later met Nelson Ramirez. Together, she had her 2 miracle daughters: Stephanie and Katherine. Ana loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was strong in her faith and was a woman of good wisdom. No one ever left her house without a word of Knowledge. She had lots of love to give and touched a lot of lives.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Stephanie Ramirez and Katherine (Roberto) Villalobos; grandchildren: Fatima, Leonardo, Aristides, and Joanna.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aristides Bernal & Maria del Pilar Guardado
