Alyssa Kessel, 45, of Sioux City, IA passed away unexpectedly in Arizona, while on vacation, on April 25, 2024. The funeral will be Friday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Alyssa was born on July 1, 1978, in Sioux City to Dale Bahmer and Pete Gentile. She married Glenn Kessel on January 16, 2021, and together two families became one. She received her GED and later graduated from Western Iowa Tech.
Alyssa worked in retail sales for 20+ years and most recently with Goodwill Industries, as Human Resources Generalist.
Alyssa enjoyed family time and lived life to the fullest. She was always up for a fun adventure, a day spent around the pool, trip with friends, cook out with family, as long as she was the “cook” and anything she could do with her children and grandchildren. Alyssa was a cherished mother, devoted wife, remarkable daughter, outstanding Grandma, loving sister, fun Aunt, and friend that anyone could ask for. She was proud of her family and loved them all the same.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Glenn, mother Dale Sturgeon, father Pete Gentile (Patty), children Maria, Julian, Aracellie, Jesus, Junior, Joshua (Kelsey), Jordan (Kourtney), and Jonah (Zaira); her grandchildren Elliante, Gio, Jazzy, Hudson, Harlan, Jerrell, Giovanni. Sister Sky Lynn, brothers Cash (Olivia), Levi (Jayna), Peter (Courtney) Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. In-laws Richard and Mary Ann Kessel.
She is preceded in death by her Bonus Dad Lee Sturgeon, Grandparents Boyd and Mary Ellen Whitsel and Pete and Charlene Gentile.
Alyssa was a strong, independent, admirable woman. She had a smile and laugh that brightened up any room she entered.
