Allen James Stanley, 46, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on October 1, 2025. A celebration of life and potluck is planned for Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Goodwill of Great Plains located at 3011 W 4th Street in Sioux City, Iowa. Feel free to bring a dish to share with everybody. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Allen was born on July 21, 1979, in Rochelle, Illinois, to Roger and Sherry (Knapp) Stanley. He graduated from high school and spent much of his career in the restaurant industry in Sioux City, working at Seaboard and Culver's. His former employers often said he was their favorite employee — a testament to his strong work ethic and kind spirit.
Allen had a generous heart and a passion for helping others. He found joy in drawing, had a deep appreciation for the film Boondock Saints, and shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Mex. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and weightlifting, pursuits that reflected both his love of nature and his personal strength.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Sherry Stanley; and siblings: Deb Goering, Lee Stanley, Dan Stanley, Laurie Rhodes, and several nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Dianna Stanley, and his niece, Emily Dayberry, and his best friend, Mex.
Allen will be remembered for his warmth, creativity, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
