Allan L Copple, 65 of Sloan, died Friday, November 4, 2016 at a Omaha hospital.
Services will be at 11 am Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Skien Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Allen was born on May 16, 1951 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Gordon and Geraldine (Baker) Copple. He graduated from the Westwood High School in 1970. Allen was baptized and confirmed at the Skien Lutheran Church.
On August 4, 1972, he was united in marriage to Joan McCall in Mapleton. Allen worked for FMC in Sergeant Bluff and later with Berry Lumber in Onawa.
Allen enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. Most important was the time spent with his grandchildren. Allen was a former member of the Sloan Volunteer Fire Department.
Allen is survived by his mother, Geraldine Copple; his wife Joan; his son Brent Copple of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Blake Copple, Brittney Copple, Brianna (Blake) Messerschmidt, Kaleb Copple and Kali Copple; his brothers Mike (Jean) Copple of Norwalk, Iowa and Tom (Peg) Copple of Sloan; and his sister, Terri (Mac) McDonald of Montezuma, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon and an infant son, Chad Everett Copple.
