Alejandro "Alex" Huizar-Retano

Alejandro “Alex” Luis Huizar-Retano, 24, of Sioux City, IA, passed away December 9, 2025. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alex was born on October 9, 2001 in Sioux City, IA to Felipe Retano and Heidi McKeever. He graduated from West High School in 2020 and worked in the family concrete business. Alex liked playing video games, anime, fishing and hunting. He especially liked putting together Gundam model kits of various action figures.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Heidi McKeever; father, Felipe Retano; siblings: Rolando (Gwyn) Retano, Hector Retano, Jase Walding, and Laikyn Walding.

To everyone, anywhere, at anytime that struggles just trying to navigate this world... I beg you to reach out, even if you feel you don’t deserve it. Especially then, you don’t have to do it alone. The universe created a space for you in this world for a reason…You Matter.
