Albert "Al" W. Sherrill Jr.

Albert “Al” W. Sherrill Jr., 71, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on July 29, 2026. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Al was born on July 29, 1955 in Rapid City, SD to Albert Sr. and Gloria (Donavan) Sherrill. He attended Sioux City schools and graduated from North High School in 1973. He was united in marriage to Joyce DeVall on May 7, 1994. Al worked at Floyd Valley Packing House, IBP, road construction, and Day’s Door Company. He also lived in Louisiana for 10 years where he worked at the St. Landry Recycling Co. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Joyce Sherrill; daughters: Tina Coop and Tanya Collins; step-daughter, Sherry Thompson, step-sons: Mike and Matt Thompson; 17 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Micki, Linda, Lizette; and step-daughter, Sally Menke.
