Alan LeRoy Rinehart, 86, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away at a hospital in Omaha, NE on September 30, 2024.  A memorial service will be held Friday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Elevate Church in Sergeant Bluff.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Alan was born on October 31, 1937, in Sioux City, IA to Alvin and Hope (Huisman) Rinehart.  He graduated from Sergeant Bluff high school and enlisted in the United States Army. Alan then began working as an Electronics Technician at AT&T until his retirement.  He was united in marriage to Catherine Duff in April of 1969.  He attended church at Elevate and enjoyed building and remodeling houses.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters: Ann Newton and Jennifer Harder; siblings: Beverly, Chuck and Richard Rinehart; grandchildren: Taylor Gant and Haven Andersen; great-grandchildren: Emersyn, Raelynn, Remington, David, and Sage; and special friend, Sandy Carstens.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine; brothers: Marvin and Kenneth; and great-granddaughter, Sawyer.
