Adda May Bennett, 100 of Sioux City, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at a local hospital.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, 10 am at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be at 3 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Adda May Bennett was born September 5th, 1916 in Palmyra, Nebraska the daughter of Charles and Lilly (Jenks) Parker; she was one of twelve children. She married Frederick Bennett, and had four beautiful children.

She was a tireless home maker and the wife of the Milwaukee Railroad Engineer for forty-nine years. Adda loved to fish and went with her husband Fred and her kids to Leech Lake Minnesota and took a few trips to Flin Flon Manitoba, Canada fishing each summer for Walleyes and Northern Pike. Another favorite pastime that Adda and Fred really enjoyed was playing the card game “pitch” with relatives like Leroy Bennett or “Prunes” as we all called him. She cared for “Prunes” right before he passed and she also cared for Fred’s sister Francis Bennett. She cared for Betty Koshen Logue who was the mother of her brother’s wife until she passed. Most of all Adda took care of her father Charles when he was confined to a Nursing Home in Iowa City and he passed from a leakage of the heart. She gave herself whenever it came to caring for others. That was Adda hallmark. Adda will be missed as her spirit and soul departs the earthly rehlm to unite with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Adda is survived by her four children Georgia May McIver, Fred Eugene Bennett, Jr., Joan Anne Bennett and Paul Edward Bennett.

She preceded in death by her husband Frederick who went by Fred.
