Mark A. Heck, 58, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, October 14 , 2019. A celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 18 , 2019 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mark was born on February 22, 1961 to James and Elaine (Sandvold) Heck. He grew up in Sioux City and attended East High School. In October of 1978, Mark married Dawn Jaminet, they divorced in 1995.

Mark worked in packaging at IBP for many years and later at Dakota Mechanical as a welder. He also worked as a carpenters apprentice for the union in Honolulu, Hawaii for a few years. Most recently, Mark worked as an electrician at Mid States Electric.

In his free time, Mark enjoyed making artwork, going to concerts, listening to music, and attending car shows. Mark loved Hawaii. After working and surfing in Hawaii for eight years, he could never get used to the cold Iowa weather.

Survivors include his father, James (Arlene); children, Heather, Phillip, Nate, Leslie, Heidi, Aaron; sisters, Debbie (Tom), Kim, Lisa (Fernando), Paula (Dan), Sarah (Tony); brother, Oscar; numerous nieces and nephews, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine; step-mother, Judy; brother-in-law, Leroy; and grandparents, Masal and James Heck
