Larry Lee Sopoci, age 57, of Sioux Falls, S.D. formerly of Sioux City died Sunday June 24, 2012 in a Sioux Falls hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am June 29, 2012 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Larry was born on November 5, 1954 in Sioux City, the son of Frank and Margaret Sopoci. He attended Sioux City Schools.
He was employed as a carpenter most recently with Gage Brothers Concrete Products Inc. He moved to Sioux Falls from Sioux City in 2001. He was united in marriage with Georgia Vanderham in Spink, South Dakota on August 30, 2008.
Larry was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed cooking and eating. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Abu-Bekr Shrine Temple in Sioux City.
He is survived by his wife Georgia of Sioux Falls, his mother Margaret Sopoci of Sioux City, two sons: Tim Sopoci and Tom Sopoci of Texas, daughter Erica of Texas, two step-daughters: Amy Gage (Matt) of Sioux Falls, and Amanda Berg ( Jared) of Columbus, Nebraska. He is also survived by two sisters; Cindy Langseth of Sioux City and Linda Post of Washington and a sister Nancy Lee (Bob) of Dakota Dunes, S.D. along with six grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the family for designation at a later date.
